Crane & Hoist
Cylinders for cranes and hoists that hold rated load for hours and pass inspection year after year.
On a crane, the cylinder is a load-bearing structural member that also has to hold a suspended load without creeping. Outriggers set the whole machine's stability; a luffing or boom cylinder can hold rated capacity in the air for the length of a lift. Drift is not a nuisance here — it is a safety issue — so load-hold integrity, seal choice, and holding-valve integration matter as much as the force the cylinder can generate.
That drives a conservative, inspection-minded build. Rod diameter and wall thickness are sized with real safety factors against buckling under sustained compressive load, because a boom cylinder at full extension is a long column carrying a heavy end load. Seal packages are selected to hold pressure statically without weeping, and where the equipment requires it, load-holding and counterbalance valves are integrated so the load stays put if a hose lets go. The whole assembly is built to be inspected and re-certified over a long service life, not run to failure.
Weather is a constant — these cylinders sit outdoors, extended, in sun and rain — so rod protection and seal durability are chosen for exposure as well as load. We build outrigger, luffing, and boom cylinders to the print with the safety factors the duty demands, and we reverse-engineer obsolete units where the mounting envelope and load rating are the fixed constraints. Every cylinder is pressure-tested to its rated working pressure before it ships, because on a crane the first proof load should never be a real one over a crew.
